Think: 1920's Decadence
The newly opened Volstead is a 1920’s inspired lounge bar is an oasis of elegance and sophistication in an the very heart of the West End. Volstead, long in planning, is the result of a yearning by the team behind it to recreate the hedonistic party scene of the 1920’s, the fabled and oft-imitated Jazz Age.
An intimate venue, holding up to 160 guests, Volstead is named in ironic reference to Andrew Volstead, founder of the Prohibition Act. This lounge bar, reflects this era of underground glamour. There are deep banquettes, a small central dance floor and secluded hide-aways utilising lavish materials and the finest craftsmanship. Dark polished surfaces, lush leather and fabrics and fine veneers have been used to create a space inspired by Viennese, Bauhaus and traditional English architecture
