Debenhams

Event: Christmas party
Venue: The Cross

Brief: Christmas party for 1000 guests. The client required a key date in December in a cool and centrally located venue. Fabric and Pacha had both been used the two years previously and the client wanted to continue to work with Jiant and it’s venues.

As this group is also young and pretty up with the London Nightlife scene, something a bit cool and cutting edge was required in terms of entertainment and music. Ensuring that all guests have plenty to eat was also a key point that had to be addressed.

Solution: The Cross! Located right between the city and west end, easily accessible for the staff coming from stores all over London. The venue's layout allowed us to provide a fairground ride and snow storms with u.v lights as guests arrive for maximum effect.

To make the event special we included top line dj – Norman J, dj’s that played Hip Hop and RNB as well as electro music. For an extra wow and fun factor, we hired four of Englands number 1 break dancers for the Electro room that taught guests some of the basic break moves on mats to ensure no-one hurt themselves on the night.

EMAP

Event: Summer party
Venue: The Penthouse

Brief: Summer party with a large outdoor space for up to 200 people. We have put them into The Cross three times, last year they used the St Stephens Club and this year were desperate to find somewhere just as fabulous – where they could have a bbq. There also needed to be a back up plan incase it rains.

The EMAP Advertising customers are a young bunch who have been to all the clubs, bars and private members clubs that London has to offer. Aside from having to find a space that could cater for all of their requirements we also needed to find a space that was new fresh and interesting.

Solution: A private penthouse just at the bottom of the kings road was the solution. This space is new on Jiant’s books and has never been used before for private events. It has a huge roof terrace, on which you can bbq and can cater for 200 guests.

The backup plan for rain – we have hired in a retractable awning! To give the event a particular feel we provided Spanish Style cocktails, BBQ’s Tapas, lots of cushions, throws and rugs and a balleric acoustic band which consists of bongo’s, guitar and violin. To top off the night a Chocolate fountain will also be running all night long...

Knoll

Event: Launch of new range of furniture and party
Venue: Fabric

Brief: To find a centrally located venue that could showcase Knoll's new range of office furniture throughout the day and then provide another space for a party in the evening. Furniture could not be in the way or be damaged, and the client needed to get all of the furniture out of the venue to be shipped straight to Italy without guests being aware.

The food was key for this event as many of their guests were important clients and potential clients – Knoll were looking for something a bit different and interactive. The entire event needed to be slick, smooth and stylish in keeping with Knoll.

Solution: The venue that was put forward was Fabric, as in terms of management and running a professional event this venue has in four years not failed to deliver. The staff and management are second to none and understand the importance of looking after our clients.

Guests viewed the new ranges during the day and at 6pm, when the showcase was over, guests where invited into Dancefloors 2 and 3 for the party. Drinks flowed all night and chefs at three Live Cooking Stations preparing the food in-front of guests.

Metro

Event: Client party
Venue: Pacha London

Brief: The client required a venue to cater for 700 guests with a circus feel and high ceilings. Central location was a key issue as well as a venue that could cater for ariel acts and circus entertainment – where all guests could see. Ensuring that guests got home safely was something that had to be considered.

Solution: Pacha London has 40 ft ceiling height with balcony all around allowing all guests to watch entertainment. We ensured that there was sufficient space to take rigging and that the ceiling could take the weight of the acts. For the ariel acts with worked with trapeze artists directly from the Circus Space and made sure that the acts were a highlight to the night. On the night we provided a fleet of private registered and licensed mini cabs to be on standby outside the venue ready to take guests home as and when they are ready to leave, thus ensuring that all guests got home in safe and competitively priced cars.

Student Radio Awards

Event: Awards Dinner and Party
Venue: Canvas

Brief: The client required a space for a sit down dinner and awards for 500 guests. They were looking for something bohemian and rustic. Budget was an issue as this was quite tight.

Solution: Canvas located in N1 was perfect in terms of location and being a cost effective space to hold such an event. The venue could not cater for 500 all in one room. We sold the client into the idea of having the awards as a theatre style presentation then the dinner in a separate area.

Rather than having a traditional sit down dinner – as they had always done in the past, we suggested to the client that we create a “Supper Club” feel with huge banquets and sofa’s with lots of draping that people lounged on and were passed sumptuous finger food by waiting staff on stylised and simple platters.
